Arrivals Applications 2019

2019 Arrivals Applications are now open.
We’d like to thank all those who applied and especially those who took part in Sligo Live 2018. Due to the volume of applications we have been unable to reply to each submission individually, but rest assured we listen to everything we receive.

As part of our program we run ARRIVALS, a showcase for emerging bands and artists, with a number of acts playing gigs with no or low cover charge in all sorts of venues around Sligo. We are overwhelmed and humbled by the amount of excellent musicians prepared to travel to Sligo for our festival. We recognise that ‘great exposure opportunities’ do not pay the bills, so we offer a modest fee to all selected participants to cover expenses.

Previous beneficiaries of this policy have been folktress Rachel Sermanni – who played Osta Cafe in 2010 and returned to Sligo Live in 2011 to open for both Elvis Costello & Admiral Fallow in 2011.  Trad-fusion act JPTrio performed in Bus Eireann Station in 2010 and then we brought them to Celtic Connections, Glasgow in both 2011 & 2012. Indie act The Gorgeous Colours performed in McGarrigles in 2011 and were chosen for our Celtic Connections Glasgow stage in 2012. As result BBC Scotland picked up on them and broadcast four live songs on radio and placed them in their video highlights of the entire 18 day festival. Eoin Glackin played a very lovely coffee & chocolate shop in 2011 and opened for Joan Armatrading in 2012 as did The Young Folk opening for Midlake in 2013 and Sligo band Rackhouse Pilfer opened for Imelda May in 2013. Old Hannah opened for Sheryl Crow and Moxie joined Horslips in 2014. The Whileaways were special guests of Rufus Wainwright in 2015. We will select one or two from 2018 and offer a significant support slot for Sligo Live 2019.

If you would like to apply for a slot in 2019 please drop us an e-mail. If possible please attach an mp3 of your music or, even better, an online link to your material.
We  receive hundreds of applications each year and regretfully cannot reply to every mail.

The successful submissions will be notified late July/early August and will be announced mid-August at our Full Programme Launch.
