Paul Noonan

Hawk’s Well Theatre Sligo – Saturday 26th October at 8pm (Doors 7pm) – Tickets On Sale Now

Sligo Live is delighted to present Paul Noonan (Bell X1) in the Hawk’s Well Theatre, Sligo on Saturday 26th October at 8 pm. Plus Very Special Guest Maria Kelly.

Paul Noonan is, variously: The professor toiling away to engineer something; The busker singing for his supper; Mr Swagger on the Letterman show/Mr Self-Conscious thinking himself into knots; Wise elder statesman of Ireland’s cultural landscape; A babe in the woods ever searching for answers.

There’s no point trying to sew Paul Noonan into any of these costumes. What fits him today might not look so snug tomorrow. And what’s more, that seems to be the way he’s preferred it over the last 20 years. Paul is most famed for his role as the frontman of the stellar Irish Indie band Bell X1.

Paul’s special guest is Mayo-born, Berlin-based singer-songwriter Maria Kelly, an alternative-folk artist whose music is layered with deeply personal and poignant experiences. Growing up with the music of Joni Mitchell & Lisa Hannigan, and influenced by Daughter & Lucy Rose, her unique and delicate sound has garnered over a million streams worldwide.

Maria’s her heart-wrenching live performances, unassuming nature, and a ‘pin-drop’ vocal is impossible to ignore. Her Berlin-inspired EP, notes to self. It is a delicate collection of songs exploring themes of leaving home and the comfort and discomfort of finding familiarity from within.
